Weerapong Chaipuck

Asia is a beautiful and mysterious continent with breathtaking landscapes and deep-rooted traditions. This is exactly how photographer Weerapong Chaipuck shows it in his photos. Looking at his work, it is hard to believe that he took up photography only after an early retirement from the medical profession.
His main interest is travel and landscape photography, through which he shows us the beauty of our world. “To create a project, you must do homework about the place; which season and period of time are optimal for taking photographs, what is the vantage point, which lens should be used, and what your post production process is going to look like,” – says Chaipuck. And that homework has paid off with well-executed and stunningly atmospheric shots.
Although he uses a lot of Photoshop and other production techniques to create his star trail photos, he says that the atmospheric qualities of his shots are thanks to knowing the right time of day to shoot. “When shooting landscapes, it is 100% natural, and pinpointing the exact time of day to shoot, whether that be 30 minutes before the sun begins to rise or 30 minutes before sunset, is a constant challenge. But that’s also what makes it all worth it,” he says.

Kylli Sparre

Young or old, it’s never too late to change directions in life and begin chasing your dreams instead of just your obligations.  Photographer Kylli Sparre is a perfect example of this – she discovered that she wanted to be a photographer only after completing professional ballet school.
“When the studies were over, I realized it wasn’t the path for me. I have been searching for an outlet for my creativity ever since. [A few] years ago I found it in photography and never looked back,” writes the artist on her website. The influence of her professional ballet experience is clear in her current photography work – the models in her surreal and dream-like pictures are filled with grace, effortless poise, elegance and beauty.
The graceful models’ dream-like appearance is only enhanced by their flowing dresses and by the foggy, dream-like surroundings they’re shot in.
Sparre’s portfolio and prints are available on her website and at Qlick Editions. She also shares her work with fans on Facebook.

Lisa Wood

With my focus in Abstract Landscapes, my goal is to create something dramatic as a result of its simplicity. I love the natural beauty of landscape photography but also the unique visions found in digital art. My images combine the two, moving along the plane toward one end or the other.

I live in Sun Valley, Idaho and I am the mother of two wonderful boys who keep me very busy when I am not working.

Storm Thorgerson

Storm Thorgerson was born in Potters Bar, which was in Middlesex at the time and is now in Hertfordshire. He was a key member of the British graphic art group Hipgnosis, and designed many of their most famous single and album covers. Of late, he runs a design studio called StormStudios - a loose group of freelancers. The current line up includes - Rupert Truman (Photographer), Peter Curzon (Designer), Finlay Cowan (Designer and Illustrator), Daniel Abbott (Designer and Artist), Lee Baker (Designer, Retoucher and Artist), Jerry Sweet (Designer) along with Storm's Personal Assistant, Laura Truman (Prints) and Charlie Barnes. Perhaps Thorgerson's most famous designs are those for Pink Floyd.[1] His design for The Dark Side of the Moon has been called one of the greatest album covers of all time. (Designed by Thorgerson, the cover itself was drawn by Hipgnosis designer George Hardie.)[2] Many of his designs are notable for their surreal elements. He often places objects out of their traditional contexts, especially with vast spaces around them, to give them an awkward appearance while highlighting their beauty. To quote Thorgerson, "I like photography because it is a reality medium, unlike drawing which is unreal. I like to mess with reality...to bend reality. Some of my works beg the question of is it real or not?"[3] Several books have been devoted to surveying Thorgerson's work which spans more than four decades.

Lee Jeffries

Lee Jeffries lives in Manchester in the United Kingdom. Close to the professional football circle, this artist starts to photograph sporting events. A chance meeting with a young homeless girl in the streets of London changes his artistic approach forever. Lee Jeffries recalls that, initially, he had stolen a photo from this young homeless girl huddled in a sleeping bag. The photographer knew that the young girl had noticed him but his first reaction was to leave. He says that something made him stay and go and discuss with the homeless girl. His perception about the homeless completely changes. They become the subject of his art. The models in his photographs are homeless people that he has met in Europe and in the United States: «Situations arose, and I made an effort to learn to get to know each of the subjects before asking their permission to do their portrait.» From then onwards, his photographs portray his convictions and his compassion to the world.

Sarolta Bán

Sarolta Bán say:
I was born in 1982 in Budapest, Hungary. Originally I’m a jewellery designer, later I discovered digital photo manipulation and it became my passion and main activity. I like using ordinary elements and by combining them, I can give them various stories, personalities. I hope that the meanings of my pictures are never too limited, are open in some way, each viewer can transform them into a personal aspect.

I’m not so good in talking about myself, I prefer the pictures ’talk’.

Kirsty Mitchell

Kirsty Mitchell say:

I was born in 1976 and raised in the English county of Kent, known to many as the 'Garden of England'. My earliest memories were always of the stories read to me by my mother as a child ... how it felt to be curled into her side, listening to the rush of her breath as she paused for effect, before launching into yet another characters voice. She was an English teacher, and read to me almost everyday, to an age I could no longer admit to my friends. She instilled in me the most precious gift a mother could, her imagination and a belief in beauty...... it became my root, and the place I constantly try to return to in my work, and my dreams.

Growing up, art became my sole passion. I studied until I was 25, taking courses in the history of art, photography, fine art, and then on to train in 'costume for film and theatre' at the London College of Fashion. Having graduated and worked for a short time in the industry, I decided to further my education, and returned to university, completing a first class degree with honours in fashion design, at Ravensbourne in the summer of 2001. During this time I also completed two internships at the design studios of Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan, both of whom have effected me greatly. Since then I have worked full time as a fashion designer for a global designer brand, until in 2007 when personal illness brought a sudden change in myself, and led me to pick up a camera. I cannot explain how this happened, but a new, deep, and genuine need was born. I used to say I had never truly 'looked' until it was through a lens... life was different, more
